The Chardonnay component sings with citrus and white flowers, the Pinot Noir brings strawberries and red fruits while the winemaking and lees handling introduces a whole new level of complexity by way of bready and yeast aromas. There is plenty of richness upfront supported by a creamy mid-palate with lots of mouth feel. Tangy naturally acidity provides line, length and freshness.

This is a rich, yet fresh and elegant wine, with an expressive aftertaste.
Montalto Estate Chardonnay
The Estate Chardonnay is traditionally built on a core of citrus fruit (lime, lemon, tangerine and grapefruit), but in warmer seasons there is an added an extra layer of white fleshed stone fruits. Wet stone, white florals, a lick of sulphides and spicy oak all chime in to play their part. The influence of French oak adds to the chewy richness and mouth feel of the wine, before finishing with bright and energetic natural acidity.
Montalto Estate Pinot Noir
Red and black cherry are the hallmark fruit qualities in the Estate Pinot Noir. Combine this with notes of black tea, blood orange, florals, spice, earth, dried herbs and forest floor, with a lick of mocha oak and the result is a formidable and complex aroma profile. With the warmer seasons, they up the ante with whole-bunch work to build in some additional aromatics and savoury qualities. The sweet fruit is harnessed by some structural ripe tannin which carries the length of the palate and is supported by bright natural acidity and a long and savoury finish.
Portsea Estate Wines - Estate Range
The Portsea Estate vineyard is located on the century old Tintagel property overlooking Bass Strait at the very tip of Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, in south east Australia.
